We all frequently mention the need for a substantial and effective dialogue, recognising that we can bring forth changes in society. That is the intention of our web-page.
Taking advantage of the possibilities offered by the new technology and because we deserve a better fate, we have this "opening" together with you, we deposit our own views and positions and invite you to express your views and speculations.
The exploitation of the countryside's potentials and the decentralisation of the financial and social growth ought to be amongst the government's priorities. Unfortunately, the lack of trust toward Local Authorities and the lack of information, and also the failure to exploit the European programs and funds to the advantage of the countryside have led to abandonment in favour of the large urban centres; this has become a true scourge for the countryside.
This scourge also torments our community due to the non-settlement of the serious problems we deal with. The lack of building plots, in spite our decade-old request to the state so that our youths will able to settle, the insufficient road network, the failure to exploit our rich historical, religious, and cultural stock despite our countless petitions, and also the non-solution of other serious problems have made our small but historical community -with a history greater than 5800 years of existence -unsound.
I am hopeful that this web-page will also become a communication channel both with emigrants and the friends from Cyprus as well as with emigrants and friends from abroad, the knowledge and experiences of which may seem useful to us.
